Queer Youth Writing Club
The Queer Youth Writing Club meets on LAST Monday of the month from 6 - 8 pm at the PEERS Alliance office at 250B Queen Street.
The Queer Writing Club was created as an intentional comfortable, safe space for 2SLGBTQ+ youth aged 12 - 18 to learn and grow in their writing. The club focuses on different forms of writing (poetry, fantasy, screenwriting, etc.) as well as taking pieces from brainstorming all the way to copyediting and publishing! While the focus here isn’t necessarily on writing queer pieces (as youth can choose to write whatever they like!), there is beauty in being surrounded by other 2SLGBTQ+ writers who are also striving to write new, exciting pieces and getting to share your work in an encouraging and supportive space.
Open to new writers - just drop in!

Showtunes Singalong: A New York-style Broadway piano bar
A portion of the proceeds from this community event will be going to PEERS Alliance! This event is put on by Pink Pony Productions.
Join us on Sunday, June 29th 12:30 to 3PM, doors opening at 12PM, for Showtunes Singalong with Jamie Feinberg, an off-off-Broadway experience where everyone is invited to belt out their favorite Broadway ballads, uptempo numbers, and everything in between.
This vibrant, interactive musical afternoon features Jamie Feinberg, a seasoned performer, musical director, and vocal coach who brings Broadway passion and flair wherever she goes. With her behind the keys, audience members can request their favorite showtunes, sing along to beloved classics, and even discover new favorites. Requests are welcome, and cash tips are encouraged and appreciated.
The organizers of this event support LGBTQIA2S+ rights and advocacy, believing that everyone should have the opportunity to live safely, authentically, and with dignity. In the spirit of community and inclusion, a portion of proceeds from the event will be donated to PEI’s PEERS Alliance and the Transgender Law Centre.

2SLGBTQ+ Inclusive Soccer
Join us on the UPEI turf field for four different 30-minute intervals of soccer fun! We will have a knock out penalty shootout - will you be the final person standing? We will have a mini scrimmage - will your team be victorious? And a very popular and yet somehow also unknown game of goalie VS goalie (if you know, you know. Be prepared to go nuts for this one). And of course, we will finish with a game of World Cup (the greatest soccer game to play as a group of friends just having fun).
Make sure you wear athletic clothing and proper footwear. You don’t want to slip and fall; we don’t want you to get any boo boos! Come with your water bottle filled to the brim and stay hydrated throughout our night. This event is open to everybody in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Hope to see you all there! Questions? Contact Devon at devon@peersalliance.ca.
